Wolfgang Van Halen Supports Pantera’s Reunion

Wolfgang Van Halen of Mammoth WVH recently offered his thoughts on Pantera’s new lineup. During a conversation with the host of 101 WRIF, Wolfgang stated that he was aware of the controversy and chose his side. He stated: “I know there’s a lot of debate over the whole incident. And, regardless of your feelings, I think they sound fantastic. At the end of the day, it is all that matters. The content is treated fairly. And they’re killing it, man; it sounds fantastic.” Pantera’s new lineup includes the band’s original two members, as well as Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante. While the band was heavily criticized by fans and listeners, they received positive response from prominent rockers such as Corey Taylor and Lamb Of God’s Mick Morton. Taylor stated in an interview that while having Wylde and Benante in the band is intriguing, they sound amazing.

Similarly, Morton remarked that he liked the new lineup but that no one, not even Wylde, could fill Dimebag Darrell’s shoes. Wolfgang recently hit the stage with Soulfly’s Max Cavalera and Mike DeLeon to perform ‘Walk.’ Both the duet video and the most recent interview are available here.
