Tom Petty began his musical career in 1967 after being born in Gainesville, Florida, in 1950. His collaboration with The Heartbreakers began in 1976, the same year the band’s debut record was made available. 13 studio albums were released throughout the course of his career: 3 by him as a solo artist, 3 by The Heartbreakers, 3 by Mudcrutch, and 3 by the supergroup Traveling Wilburys. Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra), Bob Dylan, George Harrison (The Beatles), and Roy Orbinson made up the group’s remarkable line-up. The musician is said to have sold more than 80 million recordings globally between the 1970s and 2010. Jakob Dylan, the Wallflowers’ singer and Bob Dylan’s son, inducted him along with The Heartbreakers into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. In his address, the musician claimed that “every one of his songs is bursting with his unique spirit.”

Tom Petty, 66, died in 2017 from multisystem organ failure brought on by resuscitated cardiac arrest brought on by combined drug toxicity. His albums with The Heartbreakers include “Damn the Torpedoes” (1979), “Hard Promises” (1981), and “Into the Great Wide Open” (1991), some of which are among his most well-known. Petty also had a number of popular solo albums, including “Wildflowers” (1994) and “Full Moon Fever” (1989). “Hypnotic Eye,” his final album, was published in 2014. The most recent of these five posthumous albums, “Angel Dream (Songs and Music from the Motion Picture “She’s the One”),” was released in that time period. (2021)
