The Witcher’s Last Sequence with Henry Cavill

This summer, Netflix will release The Witcher: Season 3, which will continue to star Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan. Given that this will be Henry Cavill’s final appearance as Geralt of Rivia, it will be an exceptionally melancholy experience. Even his last scene is already known to us.

Henry Cavill and Geralt of Rivia: No more witches

It has been revealed that Henry Cavill’s farewell moment as Geralt of Rivia would involve him renunciating his witcher identity. When a supporting character yells “Witcher!” for him, Geralt will respond, “No, no more,” indicating that he no longer views himself as a witcher.

This is in line with what showrunner Lauren Hissrich said about Geralt at the start of Season 4 and Henry Cavill’s valiant farewell as the main witcher a few months ago:

“Geralt’s dramatic turn is about renunciating neutrality and doing whatever it takes to reach Ciri. Even if it wasn’t intended to be that way, in my opinion, it’s the most valiant send-off we could have. As we revisit Geralt in Season 4, he has a new purpose in mind. He resembles Geralt a little less than we had anticipated. That’s an understatement, by the way.

Given that Geralt performs a very similar action in the conclusion of Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Tower of the Swallow, it is possible that Netflix sped up the action a little bit or a lot in this instance. He also gave up being a witcher there and witnessed the melting of his medallion in a fire.

Happy April 1st, a great holiday. We wish you luck in the current news cycle, dear readers. In any case, when Season 3 debuts this summer, we’ll find out.

The Witcher Season 3 is now in post-production with a summer 2023 release date. The Rats spin-off is currently in pre-production, while the live-action prequel The Witcher: Blood Origin had just been released on December 25.
