‘Have You Got It Yet?’ is a new Syd Barrett documentary. Roger Waters and David Gilmour make appearances in “The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd.” The one-and-a-half-hour film, directed by Roddy Bogawa and the late Storm Thorgerson, will provide insight into the musician’s development in the music industry, his struggle with the effects of psychedelic chemicals, and his ultimate resignation from Pink Floyd. The documentary will be released in theaters later this month after premiering on April 27 at Everyman King’s Cross in London. The film, titled after an unreleased song Barrett sang at his final Pink Floyd practice, comprises interviews with Barrett’s family, friends, lovers, bandmate Nick Mason, as well as Gilmour and Waters.
Aside from them, the film features Pete Townshend of the Who, Graham Coxon of Blur, Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT, former Pink Floyd managers Peter Jenner and Andrew King, and playwright Tom Stoppard. The documentary’s soundtrack includes over 50 songs from Pink Floyd’s and Syd Barrett’s solo discographies, which the creators got permission to incorporate. This project has been in the works since last year, narrated by actor Jason Isaacs. The trailer for the film is available below.
