The new EP arrives a year after the album ‘Requiem’ was released. Korn’s new EP, ‘Requiem Mass,’ was released this week, much to the astonishment of its fans. Korn’s latest album, ‘Requiem,’ was released over a year ago today, and to commemorate the occasion, the band has surprised fans with the release of a new EP. NME remarked of Korn’s ‘Requiem’ last year, “As such, it would be a stretch to call this Korn’s first ‘happy’ album.” More correctly, ‘Requiem’ has added something fresh to a discography that has previously focused on human pain. It resulted in the band’s most complex album to date.”
The five-song EP includes recordings from the group’s live-streamed performance in February 2022, which paid respect to “souls that had passed,” referring to people who died as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. They’ve also uploaded performance footage from the event that was initially live-streamed on YouTube. ‘Requiem Mass’ is available now on streaming and digital platforms via Loma Vista Recordings, as well as a limited-edition vinyl and a 2-CD deluxe version combined with the original Requiem album here.
Meanwhile, Korn will perform at Slipknot’s ‘Knotfest’ in Japan later this year. They will be performing alongside Japanese acts MAN WITH A MISSION, MAXIMUM, and The Hormone. Knotfest Japan will take place on April 2 at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall, with the roadshow event taking place at the same location. Tickets went on sale on the Knotfest Japan website on December 16. Korn will also perform at the first-ever Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas in May. They’ll be performing alongside System Of A Down, Deftones, Incubus, and others. The one-day festival honors seasoned nu-metal, rock, and industrial bands as well as emerging groups on May 13, 2023 at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in Nevada.
