Eric Clapton, a guitarist and vocalist, released a cover of Gwen McCrae’s 1972 hit “Always On My Mind,” which was famously covered by Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson. According to an official release, the new version was created in collaboration with Country artist and composer Bradley Walker to celebrate the legendary Willie Nelson. Ronnie Wood, guitarist for the Rolling Stones, also performed guitar on the track. “The video for “Always On My Mind” is a touching collection of photos and videos that celebrate Willie Nelson’s legendary, decades-spanning career.” “This new release comes ahead of Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, which will be held in Los Angeles this September, and where Bradley Walker will also be performing,” according to the official announcement.
