Eminem seems to be hinting at a “Fortnite” partnership

On social media, the rapper referenced his 2020 song “at the crib playin’ Fortnite with your grandma” and stated, “Calling all grandmas.” It appears like Eminem has started hinting at a partnership with the popular video game Fortnite. The rapper teased a possible partnership with the Epic Games battle royale game on social media yesterday night (November 21), posting the remark, “calling all grandmas 12.2.” It appears from his post that something is going on on December 2. The song “At the crib playin’ Fortnite with your grandma” is a notable line from 2020’s “Tone Deaf,” which is heavily featured in the accompanying video he shared.

In a similar vein, Fortnite has declared that its next “Big Bang” event will happen on December 2, which just so happens to coincide with Eminem’s teaser. The post from Fortnite, which you can view below, also says that there will be a “memorable reveal toward the end” and that the “Big Bang” event will be a “unforgettable event.”

The “Lose Yourself” rapper and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, should the partnership materialize, will be the most recent artist to collaborate with Fortnite, joining the ranks of artists like Marshmello, Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, and others. Eminem said in October that his “Mom’s Spaghetti” would soon be available for purchase by fans. The rapper’s Detroit eatery would begin delivering jars of the concoction across the country. After a string of well-received pop-ups in 2017 and 2018, Eminem declared in 2021 that he was launching the “Mom’s Spaghetti” cafe in his hometown. Recently, Eminem was forced to formally demand that Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy of the US stop use the song “Lose Yourself” in his campaigns. At the Iowa State Fair in August, the lawmaker was observed rapping along to the song, which he had been using as his departure song. The details of Fortnite’s upcoming “Big Bang” event are yet unknown, but if it’s anything like previous events like the Galactus event, it might be significant for the battle royale genre. With the latest update, Fortnite went back in time to Chapter 1, bringing back the original island. After the upcoming major event, it’s unknown if the original island will remain or be relocated.
