Desmond Child’s Success Is Not Credited To Paul Stanley

Desmond Child is preparing to issue his first memoir, ‘Livin’ On a Prayer: Big Songs Big Life,’ on September 19th. Paul Stanley of KISS will also provide a foreword for the book. Desmond recently took to Twitter to praise Paul for his contributions to his profession. Desmond’s tweet, in which he thanked Paul for mentoring him, read: “A LOW DEEP BOW!” Paul Stanley, my mentor, partner, and friend, who taught me how to compose stadium anthems the KISS way. Without Paul Stanley, there is no Desmond Child! “Would you like to read more about my incredible fun times writing for KISS with Paul Stanley?” To which the frontman replied: “Des’ book is excellent. It’s an honor to be a part of his well-deserved fame as a hitmaker and, for others, a career saver. He was meant for greatness, with or without me. Love and respect.” Child and Stanley have collaborated on numerous songs, including the KISS classic ‘I Was Made For Lovin’ You.

‘ Aside from the disco music Desmond shared with Angel Alomo in 2020, they also worked on a parody track. The songwriter described his experience as follows: “Over the years, I’ve written about 20 songs with Paul Stanley.” One of my favorite songs we wrote was titled ‘Live to Win.’ “South Park did a parody of that song, which I adore.” Desmond Child and Paul Stanley’s tweets are included here.
