Dates are added to Bob Dylan’s Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour in 2023

Bob Dylan started a new North American leg of his ongoing tour earlier this week in promotion of his upcoming studio album, Rough and Rowdy Ways. Now the folk-rock icon has added a number of more dates to the conclusion of the journey. The tour now includes seven additional performances, running from a November 24–25 stop in Baltimore to a December 2 appearance in Evansville, Indiana. Richmond, Kentucky; Roanoke, Virginia; Huntington, West Virginia; and Richmond, will also be stops along the route. On Friday, October 6, at 10 a.m. local time, general public tickets for the new concerts will go on sale. However, certain presale tickets will be made available on October 5 at 10 a.m. local time.

The Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour was launched by Dylan in 2021, and Dylan intends to carry it on through 2019. With an appearance on October 1-2 in Kansas City, Missouri, he started the new leg. Nearly every song from Rough and Rowdy Ways was performed during the events, along with standouts from his earlier work like “Watching the River Flow,” “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight,” and “Gotta Serve Somebody.” Dylan also sang the Johnny Mercer song “That Old Black Magic” on October 2 and the Buddy Holly classic “Not Fade Away” on October 1.

On September 23 in Noblesville, Indiana, Dylan made a surprise cameo at the 2023 Farm Aid benefit concert to start off the most recent run of performances. He took the stage without any introduction and performed three songs with support from guitarist Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, pianist Benmont Tench, drummer Steve Ferrone, and two members of Campbell’s current band, The Dirty Knobs. For the first time in seven years, Dylan played guitar live throughout the performance, which included the songs “Maggie’s Farm,” “Positively 4th Street,” and “Ballad of a Thin Man.” Additionally, it was Dylan’s first appearance at Farm Aid since the organization’s founding in 1985.

The Complete Budokan 1978, a new box set, will be published on November 17 while Dylan is traveling. Every song from his two performances at the renowned Tokyo venue on February 28 and March 1, 1978, will be included in the live compilation. Dylan’s official YouTube channel has a performance of “The Man in Me” from the box set. Here are the upcoming shows on Bob Dylan’s Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour 2023 (new dates in bold):
